ABOUT

These are the humble musings of an adopted New Englander, retired advertising agency-lifer, EMT, NSP Ski Patroller, avid two-wheeler (human- and machine-powered), reader of newspapers, and occasional writer of kids books.

I’m a Connecticut husband and dad obsessed with (in no specific order): my kids, my wife Emily, Guided by Voices, John Barth, John Coltrane, licorice, modern medicine, emergency preparedness, Israel, vintage farmhouses, the city of Weimar, BMW boxers, Moto Guzzis, “electronic shabbos,” doing the New York Times crossword puzzle, catching stripers, Vermont, Maine, Utah, moist cornbread, ADV-riding, Peggy Noonan, Bret Stephens, copper beeches, Apple, surfing, Cape Hatteras, the East Village, the science of pie-making, Porsches, the late Maurice Sendak, good boots, quality hand tools, taking stuff apart, and putting things back together.

(There’s always an odd screw left over, but it never seems to hurt.)

Father of three, husband of one, and accruer of blessings too many to count.

You can view my books here or purchase them here.

  1. Enjoying your reports. If you find yourself coming to Litchfield County again let me know. I live with my GS (and wife, dog and occasionally kids and grandkids) in Norfolk. Always up for a ride.

    • Thanks for checking them out Peter. Next time I head up your way will give you a shout. Next up this summer: the Gaspésie in Quebec!
